ජෝන් කීල්ස් සමූහ ව්‍යාපාරයේ සමාජ ව්‍යවසායකත්ව වැඩසටහන වන Plasticcycle සහ ‘The Pearl Protectors’ එක් වී ක්‍රියාවට නංවන “Cleaner Seabeds for Sri Lanka Expedition” ව්‍යාපෘතියේ නිල හවුල්කාරීත්ව උත්සවය 2024 ජනවාරි 30 දින පැවැත්විණි. දෙහිවල පලගල උතුර කොරල්පරය ආශ්‍රිතව සිදු කරන ලද 21 වන කිමිදුම් වාරයට සමගාමීව පවත්වන ලද මෙම උත්සවයේ දී ආරාධිතයන් වෙනුවෙන් විශේෂ දැනුවත් කිරීමේ සැසියක් ද පවත්වන ලද අතර, එහිදී කිමිදුම් සහ පිරිසිදු කිරීම් ක්‍රියාවලිය, PADI සහතික ලත් ස්වේච්ඡා කිමිදුම්කරුවන් ආරක්ෂාව සම්බන්ධයෙන් අනුගමනය කරන ප්‍රමිතීන්, අපද්‍රව්‍ය එක්රැස් කළ පසු සිදු කරනු ලබන විගණන ක්‍රියාවලිය, එක් රැස් කර ගත් ප්ලාස්ටික් ප්‍රතිචක්‍රීකරණය කිරීම හා ඒවා වෙනත් නිෂ්පාදන සඳහා භාවිතා කිරීම සහ, මෙම හවුල්කාරීත්වය ඔස්සේ මෙතෙක් අත්කරගෙන ඇති යහපත් ප්‍රතිඵල යනාදී කරුණු සාකච්ඡා කරන ලදි.
මෙම උත්සවයට සමුද්‍රීය පරිසර ආරක්ෂණ අධිකාරිය, මධ්‍යම පරිසර අධිකාරිය, පරිසර අමාත්‍යාංශය සහ වන සංරක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව යන ආයතනවල නිලධාරීන් මෙන්ම Plasticcycle සමග අත්වැල් බැඳ ගෙන සිටින පෞද්ගලික අංශයේ හවුල්කරුවන් වන Enviro, Cleantech, Clean Cities, Blue Oceans Programme (CCBO), Research Triangle Institute සහ Eco Spindles යන සමාගම් හා සංවිධානවල නියෝජිතයන් ඇතුළු පිරිසක් සහභාගී වූහ.
මෙම හවුල්කාරීත්වය සම්බන්ධයෙන්, ජෝන් කීල්ස් සමූහ ව්‍යාපාරයේ විධායක උප සභාපති සහ ආයතනික මූල්‍ය, සමූහ බදු සහ සමාජ ව්‍යවසායකත්ව ප්‍රධානී නිස්රීන් රේමන්ජී මහත්මිය මෙසේ අදහස් පළ කළා ය. “2023 වසරේ අප්‍රේල් මාසයේදී Pearl Protectors සමග අත්වැල් බැඳගත් දා පටන් මේ වනවිට අප කිමිදුම් වාර 21 ක් සම්පූර්ණ කර තිබෙනවා. මෙමගින් අපට ත්‍රිකුණාමලය, මන්නාරම සහ කොළඹ යන දිස්ත්‍රික්කවල පමණක් කොරල් පරවලින්, අත්හැර දමන ලද මත්ස්‍ය දැල් හා වෙනත් ධීවර උපාංග සහ ප්ලාස්ටික් බෑග් ඇතුළු ප්ලාස්ටික් අපද්‍රව්‍ය කිලෝග්‍රෑම් 1,230 කට අධික ප්‍රමාණයක් ඉවත් කිරීමට හැකියාව ලැබුණා. එමෙන්ම මෙම වැඩසටහන සමග අත්වැල් බැඳ ගැනීම නිසා, සමුද්‍රීය පරිසර පද්ධතිය ආරක්ෂා කර ගැනීමේ මෙහෙවරට දායක වීමට ජෝන් කීල්ස් සමූහ ව්‍යාපාරයේ ස්වේච්ඡා කිමිදුම් කරුවන්ට මහඟු අවස්ථාවක් ලැබී තිබෙනවා.”
