FLi Super Expands Island-wide Presence with New Karandeniya Outlet, Integrating Retail and Financial Inclusion
Continuing its commitment to making convenient shopping and financial solutions more accessible
to communities across Sri Lanka, FLi Super, the supermarket chain of FLi Trading, a strategic business
unit of Group Future Life Holdings, recently opened its newest outlet in Karandeniya. The new outlet
highlights the unique concept by bringing together FLi Super, a dedicated FLiCo electronics corner
inside the supermarket, and the Group’s flagship microfinance brand, Future Life Investments Ltd.
(FLi), under one roof.
The opening attracted a large number of residents from Karandeniya and surrounding areas, marking
another milestone in FLi Super’s expansion while reinforcing the Group’s vision of creating greater
convenience and opportunity for local communities.
The ground floor houses the supermarket, offering a comprehensive range of groceries, fresh
produce, household essentials, and everyday necessities alongside quality electrical and home
appliances through the FLiCo Corner. What truly sets the brand apart is its integrated ecosystem,
bringing together retail, electronics, and inclusive finance under one roof. Customers can shop for
their daily essentials and purchase selected products through exclusive interest-free five-installment
payment schemes, a distinctive offering backed by Future Life Investments (FLi) and one of the few
of its kind in Sri Lanka, whilst also conveniently accessing FLi’s responsible financial solutions within
the same location. This innovative concept reflects the Group’s commitment to making everyday
living more affordable while creating greater financial inclusion for the communities it serves.
Located on the upper floor, the FLi branch extends the Group’s commitment beyond retail by
delivering accessible financial solutions to entrepreneurs, self-employed individuals, daily wage
earners, salaried employees, and families seeking to improve their livelihoods. Through responsible
lending, a culture of investment, and customer-focused financial guidance, FLi continues its mission
of promoting financial inclusion and supporting sustainable economic growth.
Commenting on the expansion, Director Operations of FLi Trading, Mr. Hansa Jayawardhana, said,
“Our vision has always been to create convenient, reliable, and customer-focused experiences
wherever we operate. The opening of our 19th supermarket in Karandeniya reflects this commitment
while bringing greater convenience and value to the community.”
Director Operations of Future Life Investments, Mr. Janaka Kumara, added, “This integrated concept
reflects the Future Life vision of empowering communities beyond conventional retail or finance.
Customers can fulfil their daily shopping needs, access flexible payment options, and receive
responsible financial solutions under one roof. It is about creating opportunities, supporting
entrepreneurs, and helping families build a stronger financial future.”
Speaking on the importance of customer relationships, Head of Human Resources of FLi Trading, Mr.
Indika Bandara, said, “At FLi Super, we believe a supermarket is not only about the products we offer
but the experience we create. Our teams are committed to welcoming every customer with care,
understanding their needs, and delivering a service built on trust, convenience, and genuine value.”
The successful launch was supported by the dedication of the Group team under the strategic
direction of the Board of Directors, whose vision continues to drive the expansion of an integrated
retail and financial services ecosystem across Sri Lanka.
Customers can now visit FLi Super at Mahaedanda, Karandeniya, or call 0703 050 000 to enjoy the
convenience of shopping from any FLi Super location.
