‘HumaniTill’ by Maliban Jeewithaloka Launches to Restore Hope, Mobility, and Independence to People with Disabilities
For over seven decades, Maliban Biscuit Manufactories (Pvt) Limited, has been a company celebrated for leading impactful initiatives that inspire goodness and now unveils its latest meaningful step.
HumaniTill is a timely new initiative by the Maliban Jeewithaloka Programme, aimed to be a source of strength and hope to Sri Lankans who embody unyielding courage.
Collaborating with Maliban is the Meththa Foundation – humanitarian specialists providing a new lease of life to people with disabilities, through customized artificial limbs, for over three decades. This eagerly anticipated HumaniTill initiative launched on June 10th and 11th at the sacred sites of Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi and Ruwanwelisaya in Anuradhapura.
The HumaniTill is more than an ordinary donation box – it’s a life-sized human figure, with a transparent arm and a leg, serving as a touching symbol of those who have lost limbs due to accidents or illness. The initiative’s mission is clear and compassionate: to provide prosthetic limbs to individuals with disabilities and immense financial constraints – restoring their mobility, independence, and hope for a second chance at life.
Unveiled during the sacred Poson Poya, the HumaniTill stood as a visual and emotional reminder of the power of collective kindness. Utilizing this sacred occasion as an opportunity to encourage broad public participation, as devotees gathered for prayer and rituals, many offered heartfelt contributions – transforming spiritual giving into tangible, life-changing action.
Over the course of the two-day launch, the HumaniTill initiative, by Maliban together with the Meththa Foundation, received an outpouring of generosity and support, further inspiring a society driven by goodness.
“At Maliban, inspiring goodness is a way of life. With the HumaniTill, we aim to give people not only mobility, but a second chance at life,” said Positha Perera, Group Head of Corporate Communications, Maliban Group of Companies.
Maliban – through its Jeewithaloka Programme, remains committed to inspiring goodness. The HumaniTill initiative will be continued in future, standing as a symbol of second chances – inviting every Sri Lankan to take part in this movement of hope.
